DECORATION DE MAISON DE NOEL HIVER 2007-2008

For two years during the end-of-the-year holiday season, Christophe Beauregard explored the magical world of residential neighbourhoods where hundreds of homes light up and glow in the night. Titled Las Vegas, Beauregard’s images are a killjoy, revealing nothing behind the scenes but rather catching uncanny atmospheres in the light apparatuses invented by the dwellings’ inhabitants. Emptied of any human presence, the light shows look like as many vanitas without qualities, like stardust. Christophe Beauregard lives and works in Paris. Since his Chirurgies series (2005) (Manuel d’esthétique, Éditions Filigranes), he has been working on various forms of staging in photography. In 2008 he published Semantic Tramps (Éditions Filigranes) and Technomades (Europe-Échelle 27, Éditions Trans photographic press/Signatures). The Las Vegas series was projected for the first time at the Festival Voies Off en Arles in July 2009.
