Le désordre des choses. L'art et l'épreuve du politique

- 2019

[Available only in French]

When art combines with politics, it implies that its boundaries and purpose be brought into question as well as the reassuring belief in art for art’s sake. Reflecting on art through the prism of politics entails considering the power struggles at play in artworks, both in terms of power and counterpowers as one cannot exist without the other.

Le désordre des choses. L’art et l’épreuve du politique comprises critical essays in which art – its practices, its institutions, its networks, and the people that partake in it – provides an ideal space to analyze artworks that distance themselves from norms and rules.
