VENDU—SOLD 2012 catalogue

The Vendu—Sold 2012 catalogue offers valuable insight into collecting contemporary art in Canada. Featuring a portrait of the Collectionner exhibition, which presented the acquisitions of 9 collectors at 11 Montreal exhibition venues, the book also includes articles on various aspects of collecting photography as well as a commentary on untimely collections—those that embrace the unconventional. The book also shines a spotlight on women who collect art and the reasons why they make up such a small minority of collectors. Completing the catalogue is a selective bibliography of fifty or so essential references for collectors wishing to stay up-to-date with collecting and the art market. The second part of the book profiles the works and practices of the 42 Canadian artists participating in the Vendu—Sold 2012 event.
