As indicated by its title, this issue proposes a sweeping survey of different approaches to video. We deemed it important to take a retrospective look at this medium in an effort to emphasize the work of artists and organizations that, in Quebec and elsewhere, toiled without fail to give video the place it occupies today in the art world.
